—ARTIST STATEMENT—
Wilfred Acosta, a first generation Dominican-American multi-disciplinary artist born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, a predominantly Afro-Latino gateway city. Acosta grew up in a low income household in the middle of an environment struck with social turmoil and violence; a "Section 8 baby." Spanning across illustration, murals, graphic design, photography, music, and filmmaking, Acosta boldly embodies the ethos of a
modern-day "Renaissance Man."
Acosta's work is not confined to the realm of aesthetics; it is a manifestation of his commitment to the refinement of his craft and social/communal engagement. Rooted in his deep connection to his community, his art becomes a vehicle for dialogue, reflection, and action. Through his creative endeavors, he seeks to challenge societal norms, amplify marginalized voices, and foster meaningful connections.

I have an Associates in Art with a concentration in graphic design. I excel in brand identity and enjoy developing visual content for social media.

I have a strong background in fine arts and painting. I consider myself a figurative artist. Working large scale is my preference and find Salvador Dali, Bansky, and Anime to influence my art heavily.
—PHOTOGRAPHY
I have a strong background in photography, doing side jobs for friends, family, and partnerships. A good photograph takes patience and a good eye for composition. I usually take photographs with a Lumix GH5.
—VIDEO
Video is the medium where all other mediums and more can come together to create an amazing experience for the viewers. I would love to be a movie director one day. So far I have accumulated personal work and commissioned work for a non profit youth organization Andover Bread loaf.
